CALHaven collaborates with a network of elected officials, local leaders, and business organizations to identify and promote actionable advocacy within their communities. The organization’s efforts have already made headway through partnerships with cities and counties to pass resolutions supporting Prop 36 (Initiative 23-0017A1, the Homelessness, Drug Addiction, and Theft Reduction Act), a critical public safety reform initiative. The coalition was also recognized as a major contributor in defeating earlier efforts to remove Prop 36 from the ballot.
In addition, CALHaven is committed to community outreach through the organization of mental health and public safety symposiums that are accessible to all, with a focus on raising awareness across California, particularly among youth.
CALHaven looks forward to advocating for sustainable, long-term solutions, rather than temporary fixes that exacerbate the crisis. We are confident we will drive meaningful change and create a safer, more livable California for all.
